General Technician

As a General Technician, you will work closely with engineering in the development of prototype products and services. You will assemble and test electronic components, fabricate wiring harnesses, execute product validation testing and assist in the development of work instructions for production and maintenance of the products.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to lift and carry up to 20 pounds, operate tooling and equipment required for assembly and test, verbally communicate with management in spoken and written English and read and execute work instructions written in English.  Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.

This is a full-time position, located on the Space Coast in Melbourne, Florida.   Work schedule is typically Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with flexible hours available.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Production of wiring harnesses per current technical documentation to IPC-620 standards
• Board level soldering to IPC-610 and J-STD-001 standards
• Assembly of electronic devices following S20.20 ESD standards for electro static discharge sensitive devices
• Testing of electronic devices per current technical documentation
• Providing feedback to engineering for improvement of technical documentation and overall design related to ease of production and repair
• Drafting assembly, disassembly and test instructions
• Responsible for keeping work areas clean and orderly and for notifying Supervisor(s) of requirements for materials and other supplies



• Must be legally able to work in the United States
• Valid drivers license
• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings written in English
• Capable of using digital multi-meters to check for continuity, voltage, amperage and resistance


• Experience performing through hole and SMT soldering operations
• Experience in wire harness manufacturing or repair
• Electronics assembly experience
• Experience using an Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Vector Network Analyzer in a lab environment
• Experience in technical writing


• Basic knowledge and use of tooling and equipment used in the assembly and test of electronic
components, wiring and equipment
• Basic computer skills to include use of Microsoft Office Suite software
• Must be able to read, write and speak in English
• Use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopies, and fax machines
